And We Have A Winner!
I'm going to make this a bit quick. We've had a lot going on here with one of our pups and it's kind of consuming us at the moment. I think the Caps were trying to one-up the Sharks last night for best come back so far in these playoffs! What a crazy game. Now all they have to do is finish off the Rangers on Saturday afternoon and they'll head into the second round! And Detroit as earned the prize for being the first team to progress to round two after sweeping the Phoenix Coyotes in four games. Congrats to the Red Wings. Now they have a nice little break while they wait to hear who their next opponent will be. Sorry folks, that's all I have in me right now. Here are the beard pics from last night! Husband and Penguins fan brother. I must tend to my furry baby now. GO CAPS!

Wild Wild West!
Good morning fine hockey folks. These playoffs sure are keeping us on our toes aren't they? I must say, I was a bit disappointed yesterday when I saw that there were only going to be two games and that they were both Western conference games. Although, I was looking forward to watching the Chicago/Vancouver game. I've had quite a few guys from Chicago on my fantasy hockey team over the past couple of seasons, so I've sort of adopted them as one of my West coast favorites. I don't dislike Vancouver by any means. Last season I had the Sedin twins on my roster. Now those guys know how to grow a beard! But this year I wanted to see Chicago at least give Vancouver a good run at the series and not be swept out in four. So as I sat there watching last night, you can imagine the smile on my face growing wider as the goals kept piling up on poor Bob Lou, 4-1, 5-1, "are they gonna pull him?" "I don't know, maybe at the period". Start of the third, 6-1, out Bob Lou goes, in comes Cory Schneider. Wow. Schneider only lets up one and the final score is 7-2 and the Hawks have kept their hopes alive for one more game. Didn't see that one coming.
Later last night the Sharks took on the Kings in more West coast action. This game I did not watch. Too late for me! Word on the street is that the Kings took an early 3-0 lead in the first and were up by 4 not long after the second period began. The Sharks' hopes were looking dim. Then the Sharks' woke up and scored 3 to cut the Kings' lead to one. Ryan Smyth answered that goal to take the Kings back on top by two. Ryane Clowe and Joe Pavelski rallied for the Sharks to tie the game before the end of the second period. The third period went scoreless and sent the game into overtime. Three minutes into OT Devin Setoguchi of the Sharks sent one past Kings goalie Jonathan Quick to lead the Sharks to victory. What a game!
Good thing there were only two games last night. That's enough action! Below is a recap of where all the series stand and a schedule of tonight's match-ups.

Beard Day 6 - Delayed Post
Howdy hockey peeps! I apologize for not posting last night. I was testing out our new treadmill. :-) There was still NHL playoff action to been seen, and things are really getting interesting! Here's a quick recap:
The Red Wings went into Phoenix and defeated the Coyotes 4-2, and took a 3-0 lead in the series.
Pittsburgh beat Tampa Bay 3-2 in a close match-up and now take a 2-1 lead in that series.
The Bruins went into Montreal and beat the Canadiens 4-2. Montreal still leads the series 2-1.
After a goalie controversy in Philly, the Flyers came out on top with a 4-2 win over Buffalo. Philly takes a 2-1 lead in the series.
Tonight there are only two games - Vancouver vs Chicago @ 8pm, Chicago must win or they start their summer vacation early. And San Jose vs LA @ 10:30pm, that series is tied at 1-1.

Enemy Territory (Beard Day 4 & 5)
Here we go! We're coming off a big two game win streak at home, including a shutout. But we're still two big wins away from round two. It's already after 3:00 and our game just started so this will be short, I apologize! Last night we had some pretty rough storms come through the area and I opted not to get online at the time. I did take the nightly beard picture though! Below are day 4 and 5. Enjoy :-) LET'S GO CAPS!
